"Surreal Saturday: Dream to See the Forest from the Trees"
August 7th, 9pm-midnight

Tibetan prayer flags and chants transform PS 742 into a forest of reflection.
The event features the premiere of "Forest from the Trees," a new duet choreographed by Esaias Johnson. Miami photographer Melissa Blemur documented the creation of the piece, and will exhibit a collection of new dance photographs.

Miami Contemporary Dance Company presents a duet choreographed by Ray
Sullivan, performed by Soledad Centurion-Yedro and Ray Sullivan.

The evening ends with the premiere of "Final Bliss," a new dance documentary by filmmakers Betsy P. Cardwell and Juan Cejas. "Final Bliss" is the candid story of choreographer Esaias Johnson and her Miami-based company, Dance Esaias, as she struggles with a physical disability and the closing of her company.

About Johnson: Esaias Johnson's work has been shown in NYC at PS 122, the Next Wave Festival in Brooklyn, and at the 30th International Montpellier Creation et Mouvement Festival, Switzerland.
